When unlit Palo Santo has an almost sweet scent to it. Once set on fire it releases a citrus smokey smell.
Hold palo santo down at a 45-degree angle (look at the picture with palo santo stick on fire)
Light it for about 30 seconds then fan out the fire.
With a bowl underneath proceed to smudge your aura and space.
If you are finished and want to continue to enjoy the palo santo smell leave it in a fireproof bowl face down. (You may have to relight a few times, that is completely normal.)
